It looks like it’s the year of the freelancer. Per a recent survey of hiring managers, 61% of employers plan to replace up to 30% of their permanent jobs with freelancers, gig worders, and independent contractors in 2018.
Why would they do that? The answer lies in FLEXIBILITY – the economy requires companies to be more agile. Nearly 40% expect they will be able to combat employee shortage by using a staffing company and other non-traditional hiring methods. (PRNewswire, Dec 2017)
Nearly 70 percent of managers surveyed believe the skills gap is widening and will create significant challenges in the near future. This vast majority of companies agree that all available resources should be considered to combat recruitment challenges – including IT and Technical Staffing firms.
